Under the direction of the Healthy Living Director, oversee participants and sports programs of the Pav YMCA.  Has the responsibility for the day to day instruction of sport classes assigned?  Maintain equipment and supplies to provide good quality programming for members and guests alike.



  • Must be18+ years of age
  • Must have experience and knowledge of playing, coaching or teaching sports
  • Must have a reliable vehicle to get to/from work, as well as the ability to set up and take down areas for programming, approximate weight 30-75 pounds are required
  • Must have the ability to handle emergency situations without loss of composure and/or temper.



  • CPR, First Aid, AED (must obtain within 90 days of employment)
  • New Employee Orientation (must obtain within 90 days of employment)
  • Department Specific Insurance Trainings (must obtain within 90 days of employment)


*It is the responsibility of the employee to obtain and maintain all certifications required to perform this position, in accordance with Pav YMCA guidelines     


  • Communicate relevant information to and from parents and supervisor
  • Teach instructional sport classes as assigned
  • Keep detailed records in an organized and easy to read location
  • Create and ensure safe and welcoming environment
  • Ability to enforce policies, problem solve and handle emergency situations
  • Ability to assist and communicate with all populations of people regardless of race, age, and special needs
  • Demonstrate the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
  • Attend trainings when appropriate
  • Support YMCA special events, signature events, and campaigns
  • Perform all tasks to the best of your ability and with a positive attitude
  • Other duties assigned by the Associate Executive Director/COO and Executive Director/CEO
