Our charity running teams benefit membership and programs so we never have to turn anyone away for the inability to pay.
The Chicago Marathon is held in downtown Chicago each year in October. We apply to become an official charity partner and we are allotted 10 guaranteed entries each year. We welcome seasoned runners who might need a little help with fundraising. A $1,000 fundraising minimum is required by Bank of America, and if secured after the lottery, the minimum increases to $1,500. Early commitments are encouraged! Entry into the 2017 Marathon is closed, but entry into the 2018 Marathon will likely open on Monday, October 9, 2017.
The Shamrock Shuffle 8k is held in downtown Chicago each year in April. It is family-friendly and it has a 2-mile alternate walking course for those who want to take in some of the best Chicago lakefront sights at a slower pace. We welcome any and all participants who commit to raising $300 for the Pav YMCA. The 2018 Shuffle will be held Sunday, March 25th.
