| If your child is not toilet trained, have them wear plastic pants. When your child is dressed in their bathing suit, your child must take a shower. Then bring your child to the pool deck, no more than 5 minutes before class. Check in with the Lesson Coordinator once on deck. Put a float belt on your child. An instructor would be glad to help them with this. At this time, please have a seat on the bleachers. Class is underway and all students have been placed in the proper groups, the Lesson Coordinator will answer any questions you may have. Parents are required to remain in the building during their child’s swim class. An adult must pick up their child in this age group; we will not send them to the locker room alone. If your child is afraid the first day, wait with them until their name is called. Tell them you will watch from the bleachers, hand them to an instructor and then leave, a clean break seems to work best. Most children will calm down after 10 or 15 minutes. Others will continue for 2-3 lessons. Please continue to bring your child to class. They will soon adjust and find swimming fun. These skills must be achieved before moving on to the next level. This is accomplished through student evaluation by the instructor. |
